Privacy Policy
Last updated October 16, 2026
Cast Me In ("we", "us") makes AI-generated videos that put you, and friends who agree to it, into trending video clips. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how long we keep it. You don't need an account to use Cast Me In.
What we collect
- Photos you upload of yourself and of any friends you add to a video. They show faces, so we treat them as sensitive.
- The videos we make from those photos, and the trend and people you chose.
- Payment details. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe tells us your email address, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded or was refunded.
- Technical data that any website receives, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, in our hosting provider's logs.
- Your video list. "My videos" is stored in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes it.
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If you sign in to our admin area (staff only), we set one cookie to keep you signed in.
How we use it
- To make the video you asked for, and to show it to you.
- To take payment, refund failed videos, and keep the records tax law requires.
- To prevent abuse, fix problems, and respond to reports and requests.
We don't sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use your photos to identify you. We don't use your photos or videos to train AI models.
Who we share it with
Only with the services we need to run Cast Me In, and only for that purpose:
- AI video providers. Your photos and the trend clip are sent to fal.ai and the video models it runs for us (currently Alibaba's Wan and Kuaishou's Kling) to generate your video.
- Vercel hosts the site and stores photos and videos. Neon hosts our database of orders and video records.
- Stripe processes payments.
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
Who can see your video
Each video has its own hard-to-guess link. Anyone you share that link with can watch it, and it isn't listed or searchable on our site. Treat the link like the video itself.
How long we keep it
- Uploaded photos: deleted automatically within 31 days of upload.
- Videos: kept so your link keeps working, until you ask us to delete them.
- Order and payment records: kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Server logs: kept for a limited time by our hosting provider.
Your choices and rights
Email support@example.com with the link to a video, or the email address you paid with, to ask us to:
- delete a video, or the photos behind it;
- tell you what we hold about you, or correct it.
Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Economic Area), you may have further rights, such as to object to processing or to complain to a data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for using them.
If someone used your photo without your permission, email us and we'll remove the video and photos. See also our Terms.
Children
Cast Me In is only for people 18 and older, and photos of anyone under 18 aren't allowed. If you believe a minor's photo was uploaded, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and our providers encrypt it at rest. Photos and videos are stored at hard-to-guess links rather than behind a login. No service is perfectly secure, so please only upload what you're comfortable using to make a video.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll give notice on the site before they apply.
